The improvements to Inspiration Point Park in Denver, designed with Stream, include a brand new natural playground with log tower and play structures that reflect the spectacular natural environment.
Sitting at more than 5,400 feet above sea level, the 25-acre park in northwest Denver provides incredible views of nearly 200 miles of the Rocky Mountain Front Range, as well as the entire city of Denver. Inspiration Point Park is more than 110 years old and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The playground is located in the center of a meadow, surrounded by towering coniferous trees. The senior play area features a high-challenge log play circuit that terminates at the log tower. The tower is situated to give kids a feeling of being up high in the trees and provides a spectacular view of the mountains to the northwest. The color palette is inspired by the surrounding conifers and blue skies.
The junior play area at features a custom birdhouse with access via a flexform bridge or stacky-stack wood steppers. Two feather wobble boards provide kinetic play and are fun for kids and adults of all ages and abilities. Bird eggs are carved from oak and stained to represent the native songbirds that live in the forest around the park.
